ARM society leaders in the field of processors for mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, has announced a new series of 64bit CPU ARMv8 going to directly compete with the x86 CPU and Server PC in the world at the time dominated by Intel and AMD.

The architecture of these new CPU is composed of two major states called AArch64 dealing instructions via the A64 to run 64bit applications, while the calculation for 32-bit instruction is entrusted with the instructions AArch32. By pointing out that these processors have a virtual memory address to 40 bits, allowing a memory support up to 1 TB.

The announcement of the new CPUs will ARMv8 during 2012, while we only see the first prototypes in 2014, at least in the server business. In fact, as a partner of ARM and Nvidia Calxeda, they already have 64-bit compilers for this architecture and focus on the very end server, which will bring them into conflict with IBM, Intel, AMD and Oracle.
